Our Mediators
As of 2025, SVM has 54 Volunteer Mediators who've dedicated over 3,400 hours to facilitating meetings. Since 2011, our volunteers have helped in the mediation of 3,417 mediation cases!
Built by the Community, for the Community
Our Volunteers come from all backgrounds and walks of life. Some mediators have been involved with SVM since our doors have opened, and others are still learning the ropes. Each mediator is required to go through a 40-hour training, 3-day training on the Transformative Mediation Model. After which they're required to observe at least three mediations facilitated by veteran volunteers before venturing into their own facilitation.
Every year, SVM celebrates the amazing efforts put forth by every volunteer, board member, and staff person with a mediator appreciation party. We wouldn't be where we are without the strength of our volunteers.
