Thrive Corps

Confidential Teen Support Group

Thrive Corps was established in the summer of 2025. Serving Union and Snyder Counties, the program is dedicated to meeting teenagers where they are — whether they're navigating their personal challenges or the broader struggles affecting their families.

Goals of the Thrive Corps Program

Activities

Allowing teens to be creative while expressing themselves to address core issues that may be challenging in their everyday life. 

Community Days

Monthly community days to help build continuity while incorporating fun ways of giving back and connecting to the community. 

Resources

Offer insight of resources in the communities of the teens and/or their families that might assist in recovery efforts and any other challenges. 

Mentors

Offer opportunities for mentors to open doors for one-on-one peer mentorship. 

Trauma Support

During support group meetings, a Child Trauma Therapist will attend to assist with any deeper concerns or challenges. 

Group Support

Weekly support group meetings where teens can share their lived experiences while learning to grow from their challenges.  

About Thrive Corps

Thrive Corps supports teens affected by their own or their loved one's addiction, incarceration, and/or behavioral challenges. Program Coordinator, Drew Lahr, aims to meet each teen where they're at, helping them overcome isolation, share experiences, build strength, and build support in a safe and understanding environment. 

Thrive Corps helps at risk teens:​​

  • Build their support networks 

  • Discuss and navigate relationships with peers
    and family members

  • Share their experiences in an understanding environment

  • Engage with the community 

  • Gain mental health, relationship building, and insightful tools
    to exercise while doing creative activities/games

  • Discuss concerns/issues freely and at their own pace

Also Offered:​​

  • Free meal during group (teens have option in choosing)

  • A Licensed Trauma Therapist to talk to, if needed

  • Information on Community Resources  ​​

  • A "toolbox" where they can keep the tools they gain

Thrive Corps Weekly Support Groups:

  • Union County - Donald Heiter Community Center

    • 100 Nth 5th Street, Lewisburg

    • Mondays 6:30-8:30 pm

  • Snyder County - Middleburg Elementary School 

    • Thursdays 6-8 pm

    • 600 Wagenseller St, Middleburg

"Reentering Your Community" is a comprehensive guide to the resources in the Snyder, Union and Northumberland Counties for those in need. 

Resources for the Family

Healing starts with the family, below are programs SVM offers to those of all ages 

  • Prison Reentry Support for those who've experienced time incarcerated looking for assistance in successfully reintegrating back into society

  • Recovery Support for those seeking recovery from Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and/or family members affected by a loved one's SUD

  • Family Support Meeting - Find your network and have that conversation with our neutral mediators facilitating the meeting
